MANTA WATCH,
Discovering Aotearoa's Gentle Giants

Short Documentary, 27 mins

At Salty Slate Ltd, we’re passionate about bringing stories of citizen science to life, and our collaboration with Manta Watch NZ was an incredible opportunity to do just that.

This short documentary has been a huge success—raising awareness for Aotearoa’s oceanic manta rays, now classified as endangered, and showcasing the vital research being done to protect them by scientists and community alike. Through breathtaking underwater cinematography and immersive storytelling, we’ve helped share Manta Watch NZ’s mission with a wider audience.

The response has been amazing—whether it’s divers, scientists, or everyday ocean lovers, people are engaging with the film and learning more about the urgent need for manta conservation.

Seeing this project inspire action is exactly why we do what we do, and we’re proud to have played a part in bringing this important story to the world.
